Clinical Therapy Skills Certification Program

This certification program is designed for those desiring to develop and
improve clinical therapy skills within a framework of professional ethics,
and using Cognitive Therapy as the basic therapeutic orientation.
Requirements for Certification in Clinical Therapy Skills:
- The First Clinical Interview and Clinical Assessment/Clinical
Therapy Skills (20 hours)
- Cognitive Therapy Basic Skills and Depression (12 hours)
- CT with the Anxiety Disorders (12 hours)
- CT with the Personality Disorders (12 hours)
- (Courses covering these subjects taken from other
Cognitive Therapy instructors may be approved for
substitution for those above upon approval by Dr. Stroup.)
Course prerequisites: Attendees must have as a minimum a bachelor
degree in a mental health field.
- Supervision in Clinical Therapy Skills and Basic Cognitive
Therapy - Entry Level: (40 hours)
Supervision prerequisites:
- At a minimum a bachelor degree in a mental health field.
- An active patient load.
- Completion of the course: "The First Clinical Interview and Clinical
Assessment/Clinical Therapy Skills" (20 hours). (This course must
be completed during the first supervision term.)

Note: Because the supervision contingent is limited, candidates will be selected for the supervision group on the
basis of personal interviews.
- Those who complete all course and supervision hours, and who complete the supervision with a positive final
evaluation, will be awarded the "Clinical Therapy Skills Certificate."
